Last week, I had this chance to get a free ride on the BGC Bus. I walked toward the bus, with my Tap BGC Card ready in one hand and my almost finished pizza in another. Two people said there’s no need to swipe and the ride’s free. I didn’t know why. I shrugged it off and went in the bus while stuffing the tap card in my bag.
Then, someone handed me a paperbag. I took it with my pizza-free hand.
Then, flash! Someone took a photo of me… looking tired as crap, pizza in hand. It’s not as if I am much of an ugly pig already. OTL
I looked at the photographer. Our eyes met and I just smiled sadly at her. She sort of smiled back. I wanted to get the camera and delete the unsightly photograph before they post it online.
I sat inside, checked the free parcel. It’s free Del Monte Tomato Sauce and a recipe brochure. Yay for things I did not pay for with money (coz nothing is truly free in life). I paid it with my ugly face of shame.
I didn’t get enough courage in time to ask the photographer to delete it. Moments later, the bus left the terminal.
The ride was okay. They played chill music followed by the tomato sauce TV commercial.
Before I got off the bus, I asked which social media site will they post it. The girls who handed the parcels didn’t know. I thanked them. They told me to have a safe trip home.
I did search online but there is nothing. Not even with their official hashtag #comehomebgc. So, my shame isn’t online… yet. I’d like to see it, download it, and have them delete the disgraceful photo. I wish to keep it for myself only.
Oh well, that’s life.
Now, I just have to buy pasta so that we can make spaghetti or macaroni pasta soon.
XOXO,
Anj
