During one of those nights when I look for new things to eat, I stumbled upon GoBento. It is a new grab-and-go Japanese place in Bonifacio High Street, right across 2nds, a place where my officemates and I ate dinner once.
The restaurant itself is new. It opened its doors on the 23rd of October. The concept of the restaurant is like this: grab a tray, fill it with an assortment of food — starters, soup, your main dish/es, rice, drink/s, and dessert, and then pay at the counter. You go around the cafeteria-style area, starting with the drinks and ending with dessert.
I was so amused that I wasn’t able to take many photos. OTL
After further consideration of all the possible light dinner combos I could make, I ordered a piece of chicken Karaage (P55), a cup of Japanese rice (P45), and two packs of Oreos as omiyage for my brother (P9 each).
The food is cooked fresh that same day. In some instances (like mine), they cook your food upon ordering. It wasn’t available when I passed by the fried food area. It was already a bit late so I understand why there isn’t much prepared.
It was delivered around five minutes after I paid and sat down near the window. The karaage is around the same size as Mcdo’s chicken fillet — BUT THICKER and definitely YUMMIER! It goes with a mayonnaise dip. The rice is soft and fluffy. Teehee~
I had a fun time eating. It wasn’t crowded and the atmosphere is very chill. I told my officemates about it and agreed that we’ll definitely eat at GoBento soon.
